Biography

Os Lobos emerged from Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, in the mid-1960s, quickly becoming a prominent force in the Brazilian rock scene. Initially formed as a trio in 1965, the band evolved through various lineups, eventually solidifying into a six-piece outfit featuring Dalto and Cristina on vocals, Ronaldo and Cássio on guitars, Fábio on keyboards, Francisco on bass, and Cláudio on drums. Their sound was heavily influenced by psychedelic rock, drawing comparisons to the iconic Os Mutantes, and they released several singles and an album, "Miragem," in the early 1970s.

Despite their significant contributions to Brazilian rock, Os Lobos experienced lineup changes that impacted their musical direction. Dalto, a key vocalist and composer, eventually left the group to pursue a successful solo career, achieving hits like "Flashback" and "Muito Estranho." The band continued to perform and record, releasing a self-titled album in 1991 and experiencing revivals throughout the years. Their music has been recognized for its blend of acoustic and electric elements, intricate harmonies, and catchy melodies, incorporating influences from rock and roll, R&B, and even charleston rhythms.
