Biography

Os Morenos is a Brazilian samba and pagode musical group, formed in Rio de Janeiro in the 1990s. The group achieved great national prominence in the romantic pagode scene and the festive branch of the genre throughout their career.

The group recorded their first LP, titled "Marrom Bombom", in 1995, reaching the mark of over 100 thousand copies sold. The success was strongly driven by the title track, a romantic samba that became a phenomenon on Brazilian radio stations. In the following years, they consolidated their career with the albums "Teu Charme" (1996), "Nosso Segredo" (1997) and "Tá a fim de Sambar" (1998), the latter awarded a gold record after selling 240 thousand copies and hitting success with tracks like "Mina de fé" and "Olho grande".

After changes in members, such as vocalist Waguinho who left the group in 2001, and a ten-year period of inactivity, the ensemble returned to activities in 2014 with the original lineup to release new works, such as the album "A Gente Tá Bem". In 2016, celebrating two decades on the road, they released unreleased songs and kept their contribution to pagode alive alongside contemporaries of the style such as Katinguelê and Negritude Júnior.
