Biography
Os Replicantes are one of the most emblematic bands in the history of Brazilian punk rock, with their origins rooted in the city of Porto Alegre in 1983. The group gained strong national projection starting in the second half of the 1980s, standing out in the "rock gaúcho" scene alongside names like Engenheiros do Hawaii, DeFalla, and TNT. Throughout their trajectory, the band went through several vocal lineups, featuring memorable stints by Wander Wildner, Carlos Gerbase, and later, Júlia Barth.
Their debut album, "O Futuro é Vórtex", released in 1986 by RCA/BMG, consolidated the group nationally with hits like "Surfista Calhorda". The following year, they released "Histórias de Sexo e Violência", considered their most iconic work and one of the most representative punk rock albums in the country, bringing classics such as "Chernobil" and "Festa Punk". The band also stood out for their intense live activity, undertaking international tours in Europe and marking generations with their energetic sound and defiant lyrics.
In celebration of their 40 years of history, reached in 2024, Os Replicantes promoted a series of commemorative events, including immersive exhibitions and special shows that brought historic members together on stage. With a robust discography and acclaimed albums like "Libertà", the group remains a fundamental reference for counterculture and independent music in Brazil.
