Biography

Os Ronaldos was a Brazilian rock band formed in 1984 that quickly achieved significant success with hit tracks such as "Me Chama" and "Corações Psicodélicos". The original lineup featured Dutch vocalist Alice Pink Pank, formerly of Gang 90, alongside Guto Barros on lead guitar, Odeid Pomeranblum on bass, and Baster Barros on drums. Soon after its inception, the prominent Brazilian rocker Lobão joined the group on vocals and rhythm guitar, contributing to their classic debut album, Ronaldo Foi pra Guerra, released via RCA Victor.

Following the departure of Lobão and Alice Pink Pank, the band continued performing and released a 7-inch single before Herbert Richers Jr. took over vocal duties in 1987. Despite their brief existence and the release of only one full-length studio album, Os Ronaldos left a lasting mark on the Brazilian new wave scene of the 1980s. The group ultimately disbanded toward the end of the decade, allowing members to pursue other musical endeavors.

The band is widely remembered for defining a vibrant era of Brazilian rock, closely tied to contemporaries like Gang 90 and the solo work of Lobão. Their signature sound blended energetic guitar-driven melodies with quirky new wave aesthetics, capturing the spirit of mid-1980s Brazilian pop-rock.
