Oscarito, artistic name of Oscar Lorenzo Jacinto de la Inmaculada Concepción Teresa Díaz, was a celebrated Spanish-born Brazilian actor and comedian, born in Málaga in 1906 and who passed away in Rio de Janeiro in 1970. Born into a circus family, his family immigrated to Brazil when he was only one year old, allowing him to build an artistic trajectory deeply rooted in national popular culture.

His career began on the circus stage at five years of age, where he performed various roles as a clown, acrobat, trapeze artist, and violinist. Later, in 1932, he migrated to revue theater, standing out in the play Calma, Gegê and consolidating his scenic versatility before reaching absolute stardom on the cinema screens.

On the silver screen, Oscarito reached the peak of his popularity by starring in traditional chanchadas, forming an unforgettable and acclaimed comedic duo with Grande Otelo in productions directed by names such as Carlos Manga and Watson Macedo. Considered one of the greatest comedians in the country's history, compared to international icons like Charles Chaplin, he left an inestimable legacy for Brazilian performing arts.
