Osvaldo Rodrigues was a Brazilian singer and composer born in São Paulo on March 23, 1920. Before embarking on his artistic career, he worked as a typesetter. Encouraged by his colleagues, he began singing in the early 1950s, participating in talent shows at Rádio Record in São Paulo. His talent was recognized, leading to his contract with the radio station.

Rodrigues's musical style was primarily romantic, and he recorded numerous tangos and boleros. Throughout the 1950s, he released several singles on labels like Continental and Todamérica. Some of his notable compositions include "A dança da carapuça" (with Jaime Janeiro), "Jura-me" (with Maria Grever), and "O nosso dia chegou" (with Alfredo Borba). He also recorded songs for specific events, such as "Parabéns, bi-campeões" for Brazil's World Cup victory in 1958.

His discography includes songs like "Canção da alma/Coração... coração..." (1954), "Preto com preto, não/Dá licença?" (1954), and "Jura-me/O que é o amor?" (1953). Rodrigues's work contributed to the Brazilian popular music landscape of the mid-20th century, showcasing his romantic interpretations and songwriting.
