Biography

Otolindo Lopes was a Brazilian actor and composer, born in the mid-1920s in Rio de Janeiro. His musical career focused mainly on the 1950s and 1960s, a period during which he collaborated with several important artists and record labels of the time.

Lopes is remembered for his songwriting partnerships, notably with Miguel Gustavo. One of his best-known songs is "A Mulata é que é Mulher", recorded by Joel de Almeida and Aracy de Almeida in 1958 on the Polydor label. This collaboration demonstrates his presence in the samba and Brazilian popular music scene.

In addition to his work as a composer, Otolindo Lopes also had a career as an actor, participating in film productions. His artistic versatility makes him a relevant figure in mid-20th-century Brazilian culture, with contributions to both music and cinema.
