Biography

Ozeias Moura de Paula was born on April 23, 1951, in Muriaé, Minas Gerais, and grew up deeply immersed in a religious and musical household. As the son of Pastor Antônio de Paula and the younger brother of the renowned duo Otoniel & Oziel, he naturally gravitated toward sacred music from an early age, eventually becoming one of Brazil's most celebrated gospel interpreters.

His professional recording career began in 1969 when he made a guest appearance on his brothers' album "Oásis do Amor." Following this early exposure, he frequently performed at churches and religious conventions before releasing his debut solo LP, "Gozo da Salvação," in 1971. His trajectory was further elevated when he signed with Estrela da Manhã to record his most acclaimed work, the hugely successful album "Cem Ovelhas."

Just prior to the release of his breakthrough album, Ozeias survived a near-fatal automobile accident in June 1973 that left him with severe injuries, requiring a grueling nine-month recovery period. Despite this immense personal trial, the subsequent release of "Cem Ovelhas" achieved remarkable commercial success and cemented his legacy in Brazilian Christian music, alongside peers like Sérgio Lopes.
