Biography
Agenor Apolinário dos Santos Neto, artistically known as Pablo, was born in Candeias, Bahia, on October 14, 1985. He is widely recognized as the creator and one of the main precursors of the "arrocha" rhythm in Brazil. His musical journey began early, at 6 years of age, when he accompanied his father in seresta groups. Later, at 15, he became the lead singer of the band Asas Livres, where he began experimenting with the style that would come to be known as arrocha, mixing elements of forró, axé, and brega. Success with Asas Livres was regional, with the release of two albums, but it was in his solo career that Pablo achieved national stardom.
In 2003, Pablo partnered with Grupo Arrocha, which later became Pablo & Grupo Arrocha. In 2010, after a decade-long career and with nine CDs and three DVDs recorded, he launched his solo career as "Pablo, the Romantic Voice". His first solo album, released in 2011, was an immediate success, becoming one of the best-selling of the year and consolidating arrocha as a national phenomenon. Songs like "Porque Homem Não Chora" and "Fui Fiel" became major hits, with "Porque Homem Não Chora" selling over a million copies and earning him the nickname "King of Sofrência".
Pablo is known for his romantic and danceable songs, which frequently address themes such as love, heartbreak, and passion, generating great identification with the public. His powerful, high-pitched voice is one of his trademarks. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with several renowned artists of Brazilian music, including Ivete Sangalo, Claudia Leitte, Gusttavo Lima, Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano, among others. He is considered a versatile artist who transitions between arrocha, sertanejo, and pagode, and continues to be an influential figure in Brazilian music, leaving a significant legacy in the arrocha genre and in romantic music.
