Biography

Palmito e Miltinho was a Brazilian musical duo that achieved popularity in the country music scene. Miltinho Rodrigues, born in Goiânia, Goiás, on May 2, 1941, was a prolific artist who formed several duos throughout his career, including with Zé do Prado, Ninico, and Adolfinho das Velhas, before forming the successful partnership with Palmito. Palmito, whose real name was Eurides José da Luz, was born in Tupaciguara, Minas Gerais, on May 23, 1929, and was known as a singer, guitarist, composer, and humorist.

The duo's music was characterized by its romantic sertanejo style, often incorporating influences from Mexican and Spanish music, a characteristic that Miltinho Rodrigues was known for. Miltinho was often referred to as "O Trovador do Brasil" (The Troubadour of Brazil) for his powerful voice and his ability to fuse different musical styles. Palmito, on the other hand, was recognized for his authentic sertanejo compositions and his unique style as a singer and guitarist.

Palmito e Miltinho contributed to the modernization of Brazilian country music, introducing new elements while maintaining the genre's roots. Their discography includes several recordings, and they are remembered for their romantic ballads and energetic performances. Miltinho Rodrigues continued his career as a solo artist after the duo, performing his greatest hits and keeping the legacy of Brazilian country music alive. Sadly, Miltinho Rodrigues passed away on January 9, 2021, at the age of 79.
