Biography

The Paquitas were a famous Brazilian girl group and television assistant troupe originally created in 1984 by Xuxa Meneghel on the children's show Clube da Criança. Dressed in iconic uniforms featuring marched-inspired jackets, boots, and hats, they achieved widespread national and international prominence by accompanying Xuxa on hit television shows such as Xou da Xuxa and Planeta Xuxa. Over nearly two decades, the group underwent several generations of members, including notable personalities who later transitioned into successful acting and modeling careers like Letícia Spiller, Bianca Rinaldi, and Juliana Baroni.

Beyond their duties as stage assistants, the group expanded significantly into the music industry by releasing several studio albums starting in the late 1980s and embarking on major concert tours throughout Brazil. Their musical repertoire included children's pop and dance tracks that resonated deeply with the youth culture of the 1980s and 1990s. The brand eventually expanded internationally, introducing localized versions of Paquitas across various countries in Latin America, Europe, and the United States during Xuxa's global television ventures.

The group officially disbanded in 2002 following the end of Xuxa's professional partnership with her director at the time. Nevertheless, the cultural legacy of the Paquitas remains deeply embedded in Brazilian pop culture history as a defining symbol of children's and youth entertainment. Their contributions continue to be celebrated alongside other major figures of the era, notably collaborating frequently with Xuxa Meneghel.
