Biography

Pat Escobar is a Brazilian singer and actress who began her professional career as the lead vocalist for the band Metalurgia in 1981. This group was part of the "vanguarda musical paulistana" (São Paulo's musical avant-garde) movement in the 1980s. Prior to her music career, Escobar also worked as an actress, participating in theater productions such as "Life and Time" in 1974, "Revista do Henfil," and "Caixa de Cimento" until 1982. She is the daughter of the renowned actress and cultural producer Ruth Escobar.

After years of performing, Pat Escobar released her first solo album, "Artigo de Luxo," in 1999, under the Eldorado label. The album featured interpretations of classic Brazilian songs like "Mas que nada" by Jorge Benjor and "Águas de março" by Tom Jobim, as well as "Luzes da ribalta" (a Portuguese version of Charlie Chaplin's "Limelight") and "Sophisticated lady" with lyrics by Augusto de Campos. The song "Ingênuo," originally by Pixinguinha, was also featured on the album and gained prominence when it was included in the soundtrack of the telenovela "A Indomada."

Escobar has also contributed to other soundtracks, including an instrumental piece titled "Ingênuo" for "A Indomada" (Vol. 2) in 1997. In 2003, she collaborated with Paulo Henrique on the track "Toada da Estrela." Her work as a singer and actress showcases a diverse artistic background, bridging theater and popular music in Brazil.
