Biography

Pata de Elefante is a Brazilian instrumental rock band originating from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, founded in January 2002. Since the beginning, the group stood out for its proposal to create purely instrumental rock, without vocals, gaining space in the national independent scene alongside artists like Julio Rizzo and Luciano Leães.

The band's first album, the self-titled Pata de Elefante, was released in December 2004 by Monstro Discos and secured the group the Açorianos Music Award in the revelation artist category. From then on, the group's trajectory was marked by performances at important independent festivals in the country, such as Goiânia Noise Festival, Abril Pro Rock, and Grito Rock, consolidating its reputation in the Brazilian instrumental rock scene.

Over the years, the discography expanded with critically acclaimed works, including the 2007 album Um Olho no Fósforo, Outro na Fagulha, which featured on several best-of-the-year lists. After going through a period of hiatus and an announced split in 2013 by Gustavo Telles, the band resumed activities in 2016 and celebrated two decades on the road with the release of the album Novas Aventuras in 2022.
