Biography

Pato Fu is a renowned Brazilian alternative rock band formed in 1992 in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. The group was established by vocalist Fernanda Takai, guitarists and songwriters John Ulhoa and Ricardo Koctus, alongside early members. Recognized for their innovative sound, complex lyrics, and playful humor, the band quickly carved out a unique space in the Brazilian music scene following the release of their debut album, Rotomusic de Liquidificapum, in 1993.

Throughout their decades-long career, the band has released numerous acclaimed records, including Gol de Quem?, Isopor, and the Latin Grammy-winning project Música de Brinquedo, which featured entirely toy instruments. In 2001, they gained international recognition when the magazine Time listed them as one of the ten best bands in the world, sharing the distinction with acts like Radiohead and U2. Collaborating with and paying homage to various cultural icons, Pato Fu remains an enduring pillar of Brazilian independent and pop rock music.
