Biography
Ana Patricia Oliveira Melo, known artistically as Patricia Mellodi, was born in Teresina, Piauí, on August 24, 1972. She is a singer, songwriter, and writer who is currently based in Rio de Janeiro. Mellodi began her musical career at the age of 16, initially studying voice and guitar in her hometown. Her early career included performances in Rio de Janeiro's nightlife and a brief stint with the band Blitz, followed by participation in a Jewish band where she sang in Hebrew, Yiddish, and Turkish.
Mellodi's solo career gained momentum with the release of her debut album in 2001, which featured the song "Sem amor," included in the soundtrack of the Rede Globo telenovela "Porto dos Milagres." This success encouraged her to continue as a songwriter. She has since released several albums, including "Pacote Completo" (2006) and "Pacote mais que completo" (2009), and has had other songs featured in television productions. In 2007, she was nominated for two Prêmio Tim awards: "Canção popular" and "Voto popular."
Beyond her music career, Mellodi is also a writer, having launched the humor newspaper "A Marmota" and published the book "Crônicas, contos e gozações." She also contributed to the humor collection "Dez contos de Humor." Her artistic contributions have been recognized with accolades such as the "Medalha da Ordem do Mérito Renascença do Piauí" and the "Pauta Cultural Award - Lena Rios Trophy." Mellodi's music often draws from her Northeastern roots, blended with eclectic influences, and she is known for her direct and emotional vocal style.
