Paulinho Pedra Azul is a multifaceted Brazilian singer, songwriter, poet, and visual artist hailing from the Jequitinhonha Valley in Minas Gerais. Born in 1954, his artistic journey began in the late 1960s with visual arts, eventually transitioning into music as a member of the band "The Giants." His musical style is a sophisticated blend of romantic ballads, MPB (Música Popular Brasileira), and chorinho, heavily influenced by the "Clube da Esquina" movement. Throughout a career spanning over four decades, he has maintained a strong independent presence, becoming one of Minas Gerais's most recognized artists, often cited alongside icons like Milton Nascimento.\n\nHe achieved significant commercial success in the early 1980s with his debut album "Jardim da Fantasia," featuring his most famous song of the same name, which became an enduring classic of Brazilian music.
