Paulinho Pedra Azul, born Paulo Hugo Morais Sobrinho in Pedra Azul, Minas Gerais, is a distinguished Brazilian singer, poet, visual artist, and composer. Hailing from the Jequitinhonha Valley, he began his artistic journey in his youth through visual arts before joining musical groups such as The Giants. Influenced heavily by MPB and the renowned Clube da Esquina movement, his career spans over four decades with numerous independently released albums and a dedicated following, particularly among university audiences.

His most celebrated composition, "Jardim da Fantasia" (popularly known as "Bem te vi"), became a massive success and was later reinterpreted by various prominent artists, including Pena Branca e Xavantinho and Jackson Antunes. Throughout his extensive career, Paulinho Pedra Azul has collaborated and shared the stage with many icons of Brazilian music, such as Wagner Tiso, Milton Nascimento, Toninho Horta, and Beto Guedes.
