Biography

Paulo Sérgio Machado Anhaia, better known as Paul X, was born in São Paulo on January 11, 1971. Of Syrian and Spanish descent, he had his first contact with music during his childhood, passing through formations such as the band Shock and the hard rock trio Complexo B. In 1987, he began his journey in music production at the helm of his own band, Pozzeidon, marking the start of a prolific career in Brazilian studios.

Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Anhaia established himself as one of the most sought-after producers in national rock, signing fundamental works for renowned bands such as CPM 22, Charlie Brown Jr., Oficina G3, Resgate, and Katsbarnea. In addition to being a producer, he acted as a multi-instrumentalist, sound engineer, and arranger on hundreds of albums, also collaborating with pop and rock artists like Rita Lee and Ira!.

In 1998, he founded the thrash metal group MonsteR, with which he released records and remained active until 2007. Even after the band's closure, he continued to be extremely active behind the scenes in music, working on the recording, mixing, and production of various commercially successful and alternative projects in the Brazilian scene.
