Biography

Paulo Façanha is a singer, songwriter, and acoustic guitarist from Ceará who has built a solid career in Brazilian Popular Music (MPB) over more than four decades. Born in Fortaleza, he began his musical journey at the age of 17, standing out as an instrumentalist and performer with a striking voice. Since the 1980s, Façanha has been a protagonist and attentive observer of the movement that projected modern music from Ceará onto the national scene, strengthening the artistic and cultural ties between his home state and Brazil's major musical centers.

His musical language oscillates between the tradition of the great song festivals and contemporary currents of MPB, characterized by a popular acoustic sound with sophisticated harmonies and a universal finish. Recognized by critics and admired by his peers, Paulo Façanha reinterprets the Northeast with a perspective of harmonic sophistication and lyrical sensitivity. A milestone in his national projection was the recording of "Quando a Noite Chegar", a partnership with Beto Paiva, by Jorge Vercillo on the album "Leve" (2000), a song that became a radio hit and continues to be one of the most requested at his shows.

In addition to his original work, Façanha is a dedicated interpreter of music from Ceará and Brazil, having released an entire album in tribute to Fagner and keeping reinterpretations of composers from his home state and MPB in his repertoire. His shows are described as gatherings of affection, memory, and emotion, where groove, harmony, and melody communicate directly with a loyal audience that renews itself with every performance. In 2025, he celebrated 40 years of career with the release of the single "Nosso Timing" in partnership with Jorge Vercillo.
