Biography

Paulo Henrique, whose real name was Elton Carvalho, was born in Rio de Janeiro around 1940 and began his artistic career in the early 1960s. Signed by RCA Victor, he released his first single in 1964, featuring the songs "Vou desligar" and "Onda do jacaré", both by Carlos Imperial. In the same year, he recorded another single with "Tema de amor" and "Corre, corre, corre". His musical journey led him to the Philips record label in 1965, where he released "O homem da caverna" and "Billy Dinamite".

In 1967, he signed with Polydor, releasing two singles. The first featured the rock tracks "A bomba está pra explodir na praça enquanto a banda passa" and "Só queremos paz", and the second presented "Eu devia te odiar" and "Distância", compositions of his own. In 1968, he released his self-titled LP through Polydor. His final recording took place in 1969, with the songs "Não fico aqui" and "Não me interessa o que você pensa de mim".

Shortly afterward, Paulo Henrique abandoned his musical career to dedicate himself to advertising, becoming a renowned jingle writer and winning several awards in Brazil and Venezuela, where he lived for 22 years. He passed away in Rio de Janeiro on July 27, 2012. Although his musical career was relatively short, he left his mark on 1960s Brazilian music.
