Biography

Paulo Hermanny Jobim was born in Rio de Janeiro in August 1950, the son of renowned maestro Antônio Carlos Jobim and Tereza Hermanny Jobim. Since his youth, he had close contact with the artistic universe and studied various instruments, such as piano, acoustic guitar, and flute, consolidating a solid musical background that led him to collaborate with major icons of national culture.

In addition to his career in music, he graduated in architecture and even worked in the field before dedicating himself entirely to the artistic career. As an instrumentalist, arranger, and singer, he was part of prominent projects such as the Quarteto Jobim Morelenbaum and participated in important albums and soundtracks, working alongside fundamental names of MPB like Milton Nascimento and Chico Buarque.

Paulo Jobim passed away in November 2022, in his hometown, after a long battle with cancer, leaving a family and musical legacy also perpetuated by his son, pianist Daniel Jobim.
