Biography

Paulo Nascimento is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and lawyer. He had a dual career, working in banking for 23 years while also performing as a singer in nightclubs for seven years. Throughout his musical journey, he won several MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) festivals and recorded multiple albums.

As a composer, Nascimento has written over 300 songs, with approximately 60 of them being recorded by various artists, including João Mineiro e Mariano, Suzamar, Bianca, and Grupo Dominó. He has also collaborated with Oswaldinho do Acordeon, and released his first album, "Canto Novo," in 1987. His musical repertoire spans from choro to traditional forró pé-de-serra.

Nascimento's work is versatile, fitting well within Música Popular Brasileira, though he believes in innovation and diversification. He received the TIM Award from TV Globo in 2005 and was nominated for a Grammy Latino in the same year for "O Mundo é de Quem Acredita." He has also been recognized for his songwriting, with a notable collaboration with Dominguinhos, Sivuca, and Oswaldinho do Acordeon on the song "Cada Um Belisca Um Pouco."
