Biography
Pedro Augusto Ferreira Deiro, widely known as Pedro Deyrot, is a Brazilian musician, producer, and political activist born in Curitiba, Paraná. In 2005, he co-founded the influential funk and indietronica band Bonde do Rolê alongside Rodrigo Gorky and Marina Vello. The group achieved international recognition by mixing carioca funk with electronic music and performing at major global festivals such as Coachella and Glastonbury under the umbrella of Diplo's label.
Throughout his career in the Brazilian music industry, Deyrot also worked extensively as a producer and manager, notably collaborating with Banda Uó and playing a pivotal role in connecting Pabllo Vittar with producer Rodrigo Gorky in 2014. His production and songwriting contributions helped shape the sound of modern Brazilian electronic pop and alternative scenes, placing him alongside prominent contemporary acts like Diplo and various figures in the Brazilian independent circuit.
After spending about a decade actively shaping the country's musical landscape, Deyrot transitioned into political activism, co-founding the Movimento Brasil Livre (MBL) in 2014. Despite his shift toward politics and rural production in Paraná, his legacy within Brazilian independent music remains closely tied to the pioneering genre-blending work of Bonde do Rolê and his mentorship of rising pop artists.
