Biography
Pedro Luís e a Parede is a renowned Brazilian band created in Rio de Janeiro in 1996, conceived by singer and songwriter Pedro Luís. Known for fusing elements of rock, rap, samba, and funk, the group coined the definition of their sound as "brazilian batucada with rock'n'roll pressure". In the early stages of promotion, the musicians performed in the streets using megaphones and percussion instruments, building a solid fan base before releasing their acclaimed debut album, Astronauta Tupy, in 1997.
Throughout their career, the band established important partnerships with major names in Brazilian music, such as Ney Matogrosso, with whom they recorded the album Vagabundo in 2004 and embarked on widely acclaimed tours. The group also participated in significant festivals, such as the Free Jazz Festival, and was involved in the creation of the Monobloco project in the year 2000. Other milestones in their discography include the albums É Tudo 1 Real, which featured the participation of Os Paralamas do Sucesso, and Navilouca ao Vivo, released in 2010 with collaborations from artists such as Lenine and Herbert Vianna.
