Biography

Pedro Camargo Mariano is a prominent Brazilian singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist born in São Paulo. He comes from musical royalty, being the son of legendary singer Elis Regina and renowned pianist César Camargo Mariano, as well as the brother of singer Maria Rita. Beginning his musical journey early, he fronted the band Confraria before launching a successful solo career in the mid-1990s that established him as a distinctive voice in MPB and contemporary Brazilian pop.

Throughout his career, Mariano has released numerous acclaimed albums, including Voz no Ouvido, Intuição, and Incondicional, earning recognition such as a Latin Grammy nomination for his 2007 self-titled release. He has collaborated with a wealth of esteemed Brazilian artists, including Milton Nascimento, Lenine, and Luciana Mello, blending traditional Brazilian rhythms with sophisticated modern arrangements. In addition to his solo work, he created projects celebrating national music heritage, notably directing the tribute album Elis Por Eles to honor his mother's monumental legacy.
