Biography

Emerging from the vibrant music scene of Brasília in 1998, Pelicanos da Lua quickly established themselves as a dynamic force in Brazilian rock. Their sound, a captivating blend of rock, pop, and ska, is characterized by its infectious energy and danceable rhythms. The band's debut performance in January 1999 at Zero Bar marked the beginning of a successful trajectory, with their initial season drawing full houses and garnering significant local attention.

Pelicanos da Lua's music resonated beyond Brasília, with their track "Cê Que Vai" gaining radio play across Brazil, including on major stations in São Paulo, Vitória, Florianópolis, and Porto Alegre. This growing popularity led to the recording of their debut album, "A Roda do Tempo." For this project, the band enlisted the renowned Brazilian musician Bi Ribeiro, from the iconic group Os Paralamas do Sucesso, to produce the album. Despite initial production shifts due to Herbert Vianna's accident, Ribeiro remained involved, guiding the band through pre-production and recording sessions in Brasília and Rio de Janeiro.

The album "A Roda do Tempo" featured collaborations with notable artists such as Leander Motta, Hamilton de Holanda, Wagner Galvão, Erich Jomba, and Daniel Baker, enriching the band's sound with diverse instrumental and vocal contributions. Following the album's release, Pelicanos da Lua evolved into a powerful trio, further refining their energetic live performances. They have since shared the stage with prominent Brazilian artists like Barão Vermelho, Reggae B, and Charlie Brown Jr., solidifying their reputation as a significant act in the Brazilian music landscape.
