Biography

Pedro Sérgio dos Santos Maia de Sousa, known professionally as Peu Sousa, was a prominent Brazilian guitarist, songwriter, and music producer born in Salvador. Growing up in a musical household as the stepson of Luiz Galvão from the legendary group Novos Baianos, he began his musical journey at an early age before gaining widespread national recognition as the lead guitarist for rock singer Pitty on her breakthrough album Admirável Chip Novo.

Throughout his career, Peu collaborated and performed with a diverse array of prominent Brazilian artists, including Carlinhos Brown, Marcelo D2, and Edgar Scandurra. His creative footprint also extended to various musical projects and bands he founded or joined, such as Dois Sapos e Meio, Trêmula, and the rock supergroup Nove Mil Anjos. As a skilled songwriter, he co-authored several major hits alongside Pitty, such as Equalize and Teto de Vidro, leaving an enduring mark on contemporary Brazilian rock.
