Biography
Born in Toulouse, France, Pierre Aderne was raised in Brazil and has lived in Rio de Janeiro for most of his life. He is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and poet whose music is deeply influenced by Brazilian icons like Tom Jobim and João Gilberto. Aderne's multicultural background, blending French, Brazilian, and Portuguese heritage, infuses his work with a unique global sound. He founded Rua Das Pretas, a collective that fosters the fusion of Brazilian, Portuguese, and Portuguese-speaking African music.
Aderne has released numerous albums, including "Casa de Praia" (2005), "Alto Mar" (2007), and "Caboclo." His collaborations include notable artists such as Seu Jorge, Melody Gardot, Tito Paris, and Madeleine Peyroux. He has also written songs for other artists, including "Mina do Condomínio" for Seu Jorge and "Guia" for António Zambujo. Aderne's music often explores themes of travel, cultural exchange, and identity, creating a rich tapestry of sounds that span bossa nova, samba, fado, and jazz. His work has been recognized with awards such as "Best Album" at the Prêmio de Música Brasileira for "Doces Cariocas" (2009).
