Pimenta Nativa is a Brazilian axé music band that emerged in Salvador, Bahia, in 1993. The group quickly gained popularity, becoming a phenomenon in the micareta and carnival circuits across Brazil. Their music is characterized by a fusion of rock, forró, reggae, and axé, often incorporating romantic ballads.

The band was founded by Sérgio Ribeiro, who served as the lead vocalist and was known for his energetic performances, especially as an electric trio animator during Salvador's Carnival. Pimenta Nativa is recognized for its success with the young audience in Bahia and for participating in numerous micaretas throughout the country. Over their career, they have released several albums, including "Eu Vou de Banda" (1993), "Ardente" (1994), and "Tantã" (2000), which featured the hit title track that resonated widely during the carnival season.
