Biography

Pin Ups is a Brazilian alternative rock band formed in 1988 in the city of Santo André, São Paulo. Recognized as one of the names with the greatest longevity and recorded output in the country's independent scene, the band stood out for a sound influenced by British alternative rock and noisy strands of 1980s and 1990s rock. Throughout its trajectory, the group went through several line-ups and released remarkable albums that helped shape the movement known as the guitar scene in Brazil.

The group's history began with performances marked by the deafening volume of amplifiers and raw energy in the São Paulo alternative circuit, going through phases that transitioned between the lo-fi noise of the early albums and more melodic and pop sounds. Among the members and collaborators who passed through the project, central figures like Alexandra Briganti and Zé Antonio Algodoal stand out, alongside participations and partnerships with important names in national independent music such as João Gordo, Chuck Hipólitho, and Rodrigo Carneiro.
