Piry Reis is a Brazilian songwriter, arranger, vocalist, and acoustic guitar player who emerged in the early 1970s. His debut album, "Vocês Querem Mate?" (1970), is considered a psych-folk gem that blends elements of Tropicalia, bossa nova, and a dreamy, ethereal sound. Reis gained recognition for his unique musical style, which often incorporated intricate guitar work and introspective lyrics.

Reis became a notable collaborator in the Brazilian music scene, touring and recording with the renowned Egberto Gismonti's group. This period also saw him working with other prominent Brazilian artists such as Angela Maria, Beth Goulart, Jane Duboc, Aline, and Celia. His songwriting prowess was further highlighted when his song "Bailarina," co-written with Geraldo E. Carneiro, was featured on the classic album "Magico" by Jan Garbarek, Charles Haden, and Egberto Gismonti.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Piry Reis released several solo albums that are now considered highly sought-after classics among music aficionados worldwide.
