Biography

Platina was a Brazilian hard rock band formed in São Paulo in 1984. The band emerged from a power trio composed of brothers Andria and Ivan Busic (bass and drums, respectively) and guitarist Daril Parisi, initially named Prisma. With the arrival of vocalist Sergio Sêman, the group changed its name to Platina.

Platina's sound was characterized by hard rock with heavy metal influences, compared by some to Whitesnake. The band stood out for its sound quality and compositions in Portuguese, featuring well-crafted lyrics and memorable melodies. Guitarist Daril Parisi's work was frequently praised for his virtuoso solos. Songs like "Reflexão", "Prisma" and "Fascínio" are notable examples of their discography.

After releasing a self-titled EP in 1985 through the Baratos Afins label, which received a positive reception from the public and specialized critics, the band broke up in 1987 due to musical differences. Years later, in 2013, the members of Platina reunited for a special performance. The Busic brothers, Andria and Ivan, pursued musical careers and founded the band Dr. Sin.
