Biography

Pluma is a Brazilian indie pop band formed in São Paulo, consisting of Marina Reis (vocals), Diego "Dizzy" Vargas (keyboard/synthesizer), Guilherme Cunha (bass), and Lucas Teixeira (drums).

The band's origins trace back to a university project, initially not envisioned as a professional endeavor. However, the success of their first EP, "Mais do Que Eu Sei Falar" (2020), particularly its title track which garnered over 1.3 million streams on Spotify, propelled them into the independent music scene. This early recognition provided a solid foundation and motivated the quartet to further develop their musical project.

Pluma's sound is characterized by a blend of introspective lyrics and dynamic arrangements, often described as psychedelic or having a dreamy quality. They have performed at significant events, including Lollapalooza Brasil and Primavera Sound in Barcelona. Their debut album, "Não Leve a Mal," released in 2024, explores themes of introspection and emotional expression, contrasting intimate moments with energetic musical passages. The band has also collaborated with other artists, such as the DJ duo Deekapz, and has been recognized for their unique approach to indie pop, incorporating elements of electronic music and diverse influences.
