Biography

Viviane de Queiroz Pereira, known professionally as Pocah, is a Brazilian singer-songwriter who rose to prominence in the funk carioca scene. Born in Queimados, Rio de Janeiro, and raised in Duque de Caxias, Pocah's artistic journey began at a young age, influenced by her brother's rock band and later by the vibrant funk carioca music.

She officially launched her career in 2012 with the hit "Mulher do Poder," which quickly gained traction. Initially known as MC Pocahontas, a name inspired by her perceived resemblance to the Disney character, she later adopted the stage name Pocah to avoid copyright issues. Her music is characterized by energetic beats, catchy melodies, and lyrics that often touch upon themes of female empowerment, relationships, and partying, blending funk ostentação, melodic funk, and pop influences.

Pocah has collaborated with numerous artists, including Naiara Azevedo, Dani Russo, MC Mirella, and Pabllo Vittar, releasing successful singles and EPs such as "TBT da Pocah" and "A Braba é Ela." In addition to her music career, she participated in the reality show Big Brother Brasil in 2021. Pocah continues to evolve her sound, experimenting with genres like afrobeat and trap, solidifying her position as a dynamic and influential artist in the Brazilian music landscape.
