Biography

Preto no Branco is a Brazilian black music, soul music, and contemporary Christian music band formed in Belo Horizonte in 2014, under the conceptualization of artistic director Alex Passos. The group achieved national prominence right from its debut album released in 2015, which featured the emblematic song "Ninguém Explica Deus", recorded in partnership with Gabriela Rocha and transformed into one of the biggest religious hits and most-played tracks on the country's platforms in 2016.

Throughout its trajectory, the band's lineup underwent several changes with the departures of members like Juninho Black, Weslei Santos, and later Clovis Pinho, who pursued a solo career. Even with the reformulations that brought in new names such as Luã Freitas, Lorena Fadi, and Silas Simões, the group maintained its essence and released expressive works like the album Preto no Branco 3, which featured collaborations with renowned artists such as Nívea Soares and Marcos Almeida.

The band's musical proposal stands out for the fusion of soul music and black music influences with praise and worship lyrics of contemporary Christian music. This artistic identity has consolidated Preto no Branco as one of the most influential projects in the recent Brazilian gospel scene, marking generations through refined vocal arrangements and memorable collaborations alongside major names in the segment.
