Biography

Psykóze was a punk rock band formed in the early 1980s in the Perdizes neighborhood of São Paulo. The classic lineup featured Morto on vocals, Oklinhos on guitar, Japão on bass, and Bitão on drums. The band stood out in the São Paulo underground scene, participating in important festivals and compilations of the era.

Their first major public appearance took place in 1982 at the "O Começo do Fim do Mundo" festival, which was recorded on vinyl released by Punk Rock Records. That same year, the band was invited by Redson, guitarist and vocalist of Cólera, to join the compilation "Punk Sub", sharing space with other relevant bands from the scene such as Cólera, Ratos de Porão, and Fogo Cruzado. This compilation, initially released on vinyl by the Vermelho label, was later re-released on CD by Devil Records.

Psykóze contributed six tracks to the "Punk Sub" compilation, including "Buracos Suburbanos", "Fim do Mundo", and "Terceira Guerra Mundial". The band is recognized for its defiant attitude and lyrics that reflected the social and political context of Brazil in the 80s, striking characteristics of the punk rock of that period. Although the band is no longer active, its legacy remains an important part of the history of Brazilian punk rock, influencing subsequent generations of musicians.
