Biography
Antônio Luiz Júnior, better known as Rappin' Hood, was born in São Paulo and began his musical journey in his youth, writing his first lyrics at 14 years of age. After studying wind instruments such as the trombone and cornet, he emerged in the national rap scene in the late 1980s, consolidating his name with the group Posse Mente Zulu and notable partnerships with prominent DJs and producers in urban culture.
Throughout his career, Rappin' Hood expanded his artistic work beyond the microphones, also standing out as a producer, radio and television host, and cultural activist. In his solo discography, which includes acclaimed works such as the album Sujeito Homem, the artist promoted innovative bridges between rap and traditional branches of Brazilian music, featuring collaborations with major names such as Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, and Jair Rodrigues.
In addition to his musical contribution, he played a fundamental role in spreading hip-hop culture through programs like Rap Du Bom and Manos e Minas on TV Cultura.
