Biography

Raquel Tombesi is a Brazilian singer who has become a prominent voice in the Axé music scene. Born in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, she began her musical journey singing sertanejo in local bars and events. However, her passion for Axé music led her to move to Salvador, Bahia, the heartland of the genre, where she continued to perform in various venues.

In late 2023, Tombesi was invited to front the band Pimenta Nativa, marking a significant step in her career. She made her debut at the Salvador Carnival in 2024, performing on a trio elétrico and in other cities across the Northeast region of Brazil. Her energetic performances and charismatic stage presence quickly garnered attention within the Axé music community.

In March 2024, Raquel Tombesi achieved a major milestone by becoming the new lead vocalist for the iconic band Cheiro de Amor. This appointment placed her at the helm of one of Bahia's most traditional Axé groups, known for its extensive history and numerous hits. Tombesi has embraced this role with enthusiasm, aiming to contribute to the band's rich legacy while bringing her own unique energy to their performances, continuing the tradition set by previous vocalists like Márcia Freire and Alinne Rosa.
