Raul Gil is a renowned Brazilian television presenter, singer, and songwriter, born in São Paulo on January 27, 1938. With a career spanning over sixty years of dedication to the small screen, he has established himself as one of the great icons of national television, having worked for several prestigious broadcasters throughout his career. Before achieving success on stages and in studios, he worked as an office boy and faced several rejections on radio programs until he won a talent contest on the former TV Paulista, hosted by Hebe Camargo.

Throughout his artistic journey, Raul Gil has been associated with important names in Brazilian culture, such as Adoniran Barbosa and Silvio Santos, and also stood out for his ability to imitate great icons of music and humor. This versatility led him to transition easily between music and comedy, paving the way for his consolidation as a presenter of traditional variety shows on networks such as RecordTV, Bandeirantes, and SBT.

His personal and family life has always been closely tied to his professional trajectory; he has been married to Carmem Sanchez Gil since 1960 and is the father of Nanci Gil and Raul Gil Júnior, as well as being the uncle of comedian Marquito.
