Formed in 1988, Redenção is a Brazilian pagode group known for its romantic and melodic style. The group's initial lineup featured Wladimir on vocals, Kiko on cavaquinho, Serjão on bass, Rodney on drums, Joãozinho on pandeiro, Moacir on tantã and vocals, James on percussion, and Adriano on vocals. They released their debut album, "O novo caminho," in 1993, followed by "A era e o sol" in 1995 and "Tanta felicidade" in 1996. The latter album brought them significant success in the interior of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Minas Gerais, leading to performances alongside renowned artists like João Nogueira and Dona Ivone Lara.

In 1998, Redenção released "Preciso te encontrar," produced by Leandro Lehart. This album included re-recordings of their earlier hits, such as "Muito estranho," alongside new material like "Jeito de mulher" and "Chamego bom." The group's music often explores themes of love, relationships, and daily life, resonating with a wide audience. Their sound is characterized by the typical instrumentation of pagode, including cavaquinho, tantã, pandeiro, and percussion, layered with smooth vocal harmonies.
