Biography

Regina Amália Serra de Souza, known artistically as Regininha, is a singer and songwriter born in Rio de Janeiro on October 1, 1945. Her musical career began in 1966, when she participated in the Musicanossa event, where she presented her composition "Ipanema". Regininha stood out in 1968 and 1969 as a member of the group "A Turma da Pilantragem", becoming known for her participation in the song "Primavera", by Carlos Lyra and Vinicius de Moraes. In 1970, she joined the trio "Umas e Outras" and began her solo career, releasing the hit "Teletema", the theme song of the Rede Globo soap opera "Véu de Noiva".

Throughout her career, Regininha has also worked as a backing vocalist on recordings by several renowned Brazilian music artists, including Alceu Valença, Gilberto Gil, Ivan Lins, Chico Buarque, and Edu Lobo. Her discography includes the double EP "Regininha", released in 1979, and the album "Às Vozes do Jingle", from 1981. In addition to her career as a singer, Regininha also worked in advertising, recording jingles and voice-overs, and participated in the advertising production company Zurana.

Regininha is recognized for her versatility and contribution to Brazilian popular music, moving between bossa nova, samba, and MPB. Her interpretation of "Teletema" became a milestone, being later re-recorded by other artists. The artist remains active in music, having participated in projects such as "50 Anos de Música" in 1985.
