Biography

Renascer Praise is a renowned Brazilian contemporary Christian music group, formed in 1993 in the city of São Paulo. Originating within the Renascer em Cristo Apostolic Church, the project brings together singers, instrumentalists, orchestras, and choirs under the artistic leadership of Sônia Hernandes, who serves as the conductor and worship minister. Over the course of more than three decades, the group has established itself as one of the pioneers and most influential exponents of the praise and worship style in the country, accumulating dozens of highly successful commercial and digital albums, DVDs, and singles.

Since its first record, released in 1993 with the participation of fundamental bands from the gospel scene such as Katsbarnea, Resgate, and Oficina G3, the group has significantly expanded its musical and geographical boundaries. Renascer Praise stood out for historic recordings in emblematic locations, including a pioneering outdoor DVD in Israel in the year 2000, in addition to grand stage performances in Brazil and international tours. Among the milestones in its discography are works such as Restituição, Canto de Sião — which earned the group a Latin Grammy nomination in 2014 — and viral hits like Escape, dialoguing with different generations of believers and Christian music enthusiasts.

The ensemble's journey has also been marked by moments of restructuring and partnerships with major record labels, such as Sony Music and Universal Music, before returning to the digital format via Gospel Records. With the tenure of various vocalists and special guest appearances by names such as Soraya Moraes, Thalles Roberto, and Paulo Rogério, Renascer Praise continues to set trends and accumulate millions of views on streaming platforms, keeping its relevance alive in Latin American gospel culture.
