Renato Costa Ferreira, widely known as Renato Piau, is a Brazilian guitarist, composer, and singer born in Teresina, Piauí, in 1953. Throughout his career, he has contributed significantly to the instrumental and popular Brazilian music scenes, releasing works that highlight his mastery of the guitar and acoustic arrangements. His notable recordings include the 1990 album Camelo Voador in partnership with Carlos Cal, and his solo guitar projects such as Guitarra Brasileira.

Piau has collaborated extensively with prominent figures in Brazilian music, participating in landmark events and performances. In 1972, he performed at the Festival Internacional da Canção alongside Sérgio Sampaio, forging a lasting artistic connection that later included shows like Balaio do Sampaio.
