Biography

Rhemajireh was a Brazilian gospel band formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1996. The group gained prominence in the 1990s for their fusion of gospel music with elements of soul, rock, hip-hop, and samba-reggae. They released two albums during their active period: "Rhemajireh" in 1997 and "Rhemajireh - Ao Vivo" in 1998.

The album "Rhemajireh - Ao Vivo" achieved significant popularity within evangelical churches and events, marking a generation of Christian music listeners in Brazil. The band was known for its musical diversity, incorporating reggae, pop, blues, rock, and funk into their repertoire. Notable songs include "Tsabaoth," "Vencendo Vem Jesus," and "Reggae da Salvação." Their song "Nosso Amor" was recognized as one of the pioneering tracks addressing romantic love within the evangelical scene in Brazil, and it remains a popular choice for weddings.

Rhemajireh also served as a launchpad for other talents in the Brazilian gospel music scene. Members who went on to form the group Ellas (Betânia, Roberta, and Valéria Lima) and singer Marquinhos Menezes were part of Rhemajireh. The band also participated in recordings with other gospel artists such as Cristina Mel and Marina de Oliveira, contributing to the rich tapestry of Brazilian evangelical music.
