Ricardo Gaspa is a prominent Brazilian bassist, composer, and producer, best known for his long tenure with the influential rock band Ira!. Throughout his career, Gaspa has been a key figure in the Brazilian rock scene, contributing to the band's iconic sound and songwriting, including co-writing classics like 'Tarde Vazia' and 'Tanto Quanto Eu'. His musical journey began in the 1980s, and he has also been a part of other notable bands such as Voluntários da Pátria, KGB, and Cabine C.

After leaving Ira! in 2007, Gaspa embarked on a solo career, focusing on his own artistic vision and exploring different musical avenues. His debut solo album, 'The Bass Player,' released in 2013, showcased his versatility and passion for acoustic bass, featuring a blend of rock and roll, country, and rockabilly influences. This album also highlighted his collaborative spirit, with guest appearances from renowned Brazilian artists like Marcelo Nova and Wander Wildner.

Gaspa's musical output extends beyond his solo work and his contributions to Ira!. He also maintains the project Gaspa & Os Alquimistas (now Os Alquimistas), a band with a 1950s rock style, which he has led since 2007.
