Rio 65 Trio was a Brazilian samba-jazz instrumental group formed in 1965 in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The original lineup featured Dom Salvador on piano, Sérgio Barrozo on bass, and Edison Machado on drums, creating an influential sound that blended the sophistication of jazz harmony with the infectious rhythms of samba.

During their relatively brief active period, the group released notable recordings that helped define the samba-jazz genre during the mid-1960s. Their self-titled debut album 'Rio 65 Trio' came out in 1965, followed by 'A Hora e a Vez da M.P.M' in 1966, both standing as essential documents of Brazilian instrumental music from that era.
