Robertinho Brant is a distinguished Brazilian composer, arranger, and music producer who emerged from the rich musical landscape of Minas Gerais. Born into a family deeply connected to the arts—his uncle was the legendary lyricist Fernando Brant—Robertinho grew up immersed in the sounds of the Clube da Esquina movement. He refined his craft at the Música de Minas Escola Livre, founded by Milton Nascimento and Wagner Tiso, and began his professional journey in the mid-1980s performing in the vibrant nightlife of Belo Horizonte. \n\nHis career is marked by a blend of sophisticated arrangements and a strong collaborative spirit. His debut solo album, Lugares (1994), featured an elite roster of Brazilian talent including Toninho Horta and Beto Guedes. Beyond his solo work, Brant has become a pivotal figure behind the scenes, producing acclaimed albums for artists such as Vander Lee and Marina Machado. His international reach was highlighted when his compositions were recorded by Seu Jorge and Bebel Gilberto, earning him praise from international critics for his stylistic versatility ranging from folk rock to instrumental jazz. Brant remains a key guardian of the Mineiro musical legacy, having produced the major tribute project Vendedor de Sonhos in honor of his uncle.
