Biography
Rodrigo Maranhão was born in Rio de Janeiro on September 7, 1970, establishing himself over the years as an important singer and songwriter of MPB. His national projection occurred remarkably in 2006, when he was awarded the Latin Grammy award in the Best Brazilian Song category for the composition "Caminho das Águas", immortalized in the voice of the interpreter Maria Rita.
In 2007, he began his solo discography with the release of his debut album titled Bordado. The work gathered widely acclaimed songs that had already been consecrated by other great names in Brazilian music, such as the tracks "Olho de Boi" and "Samba de um Minuto", recorded by Roberta Sá, in addition to new renditions of his own compositions interpreted by Maria Rita.
His trajectory continued to expand with new releases and international partnerships, such as the album Passageiro, produced by Zé Nogueira in 2010, which featured the collaboration of Portuguese singer António Zambujo. Maintaining a constant output, Maranhão went on to release acclaimed works like Itinerário, consolidating his name in the contemporary music scene alongside artists such as Maria Rita and Roberta Sá.
