Ronaldo Bastos is a renowned Brazilian songwriter, lyricist, and music producer born in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, in 1948. He is widely recognized as one of the founding fathers and principal lyricists of the immensely influential musical movement Clube da Esquina, collaborating closely with artistic giants such as Milton Nascimento and Lô Borges. Throughout his illustrious career, his poetic sensibilities have helped shape the soundscape of Brazilian popular music, resulting in timeless standards and generational anthems. In addition to his lyrical prowess, Bastos has established himself as a distinguished record producer, helming seminal albums for various artists and founding the celebrated independent record label Dubas Música in the 1990s.
