Biography

Rose Nascimento is a renowned Brazilian contemporary Christian singer and pastor, widely recognized as a leading exponent of the pentecostal movement in gospel music. Born in Rio de Janeiro, she grew up in an Assembly of God household and began singing in church services during her childhood, earning the affectionate nickname "my nightingale" from her father. Before embarking on her successful solo career, she worked as a backing vocal for artists such as Elymar Santos, Joanna, and Shirley Carvalhaes. Throughout her career, she has released numerous chart-topping albums and achieved record-breaking sales of over 9 million records across Brazil.

In 1990, she released her debut album, Livre, which established her presence in the Christian music scene. Over the subsequent decades, she released milestone projects such as Mais Firme do que Nunca and Sempre Fiel, both of which sold over a million copies and cemented her status as a powerhouse vocalist often compared to Tina Turner in the gospel genre. Her powerful delivery of hits like "Fiel Toda Vida (Jó)", "Não Ceda", and "Portões Celestiais" earned her numerous gold, platinum, and diamond certifications, as well as a Latin Grammy nomination for her album Para o Mundo Ouvir.

Beyond her musical achievements, Rose Nascimento is a church founder and pastor, having established the Igreja Evangélica Deus do Impossível (IEDI) alongside her husband, Pastor João Azeredo, in Campo Grande, Rio de Janeiro. She comes from a remarkably musical family, being related to fellow gospel artists such as Mattos Nascimento, Marcelo Nascimento, Tuca Nascimento, Wilian Nascimento, Michelle Nascimento, and Gisele Nascimento. She continues to impact the Brazilian gospel landscape through her independent label, RN Produções, and her enduring ministry.
