Biography
Rossana Decelso (born Rossana Celso de Abreu) was a Brazilian singer, music producer, and businesswoman, born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, on December 13, 1957. She began her musical career in the 1980s, singing in bars and festivals in Minas Gerais. Although she earned a degree in Physical Therapy, her desire to work with music led her to pursue an artistic career. Crucial to her trajectory was her contact with singer-songwriter Zeca Baleiro, with whom she became a friend and producer, playing a fundamental role in his national exposure. She was a partner with the artist in creating the Saravá Discos label. Rossana also produced other important names in Brazilian music, such as Vander Lee, working on the completion and release of his posthumous DVD. As a singer, she released two albums: "Mandando Bala" (2004), interpreting songs by Zeca Baleiro, and "Não Tenha Medo Não" (2020), in addition to several singles. Her final release was the single "O Tonto e o Zorro" in 2021. Rossana Decelso passed away in São Paulo on November 2, 2025, at the age of 67. Her body was transferred to Belo Horizonte, where she was buried.
Her career as a singer, although it began in the 1980s, gained more prominence with the release of her albums "Mandando Bala" and "Não Tenha Medo Não". The first, from 2004, featured interpretations of songs by Zeca Baleiro, an artist with whom she maintained a strong professional and personal partnership. The second album, released in 2020, featured guest appearances and renditions of songs by other Brazilian artists, such as "Fui" by Vander Lee. Rossana also stood out as a music producer and businesswoman, playing a crucial role in Zeca Baleiro's career and in promoting new talents. Her work behind the scenes of Brazilian music was just as relevant as her presence as a singer, leaving a significant legacy for the country's music industry.
